About Us

Family and Children First Council was first established in 1993, by then Governor George Voinovich for the purpose of streamlining and coordinating existing government services for multi system youth and their families.  Champaign County Family and Children First Council is an association of public and non-profit organizations, schools, parents and elected officials committed to strengthening families and improving services by working together and sharing resources.   

Mission 

To work together by sharing, developing and utilizing resources that empower individuals and families to build upon their strengths and enhance their lives.  ​

• In addition, 3 parent representatives sit on the Council. 

Meeting Dates and times

The Champaign County Family and Children First Council meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 1 pm in the Community Center, 1512 US HWY 68, Urbana.  All meetings are subject to the Sunshine Laws and are open to the public.
